Blackrock SC Parents

The club is run day to day by volunteer parents.  Parents can volunteer to help out on with the club Committee, fundraising, administration, education, Swim Ireland liaison officer and many other areas. 

Parent on Deck

Blackrock swim club is required to have a Parent on Deck (POD) at all times as a mandatory requirement of Swim Ireland.  This role must be done by a parent/guardian at least once every term.  The role of the person on duty is to provide a safer environment for both the athletes and the coaches/teachers to operate in. The club session are not allowed to run unless we have provided at POD.  We are very grateful for the commitment shown by parents in making sure this role is fulfilled.  POD rota is located on the club WhatsApp group. 

Competitive swimmers 

Once a swimmer decides to compete and enter galas, parental involvement in the running of the club is expected. 

• All parents of competitive swimmers will be rostered for gala duties.  Roles include Team Manager, gala organisers, Timekeeper and Turn judge at galas and much more!  Helping out in the running of our club benefits the club, your swimmer and you!
