Team Manger Role
Every gala we attend we typically need 2 Team Managers per session - so 4 people for a one day gala.
To spread the work fairly, as a requirement of being a competitive Blackrock SC swimmer, we ask one member from each family to become qualified as a Team Manager.
The process requires 4 steps:
1. Have a Swim Ireland profile linked to Blackrock SC. Please reach out to our membership secretary to help you complete this step.
2. Complete Garda Vetting through Swim Ireland. Unfortunately, Garda Vetting from other sports / work / other organisations will not count. Information on how to complete this step can be found here. For Swim Ireland the relevant form is the E-Vet Application Form. Please note, you will need to bring multiple forms of ID (see requirements on the E-Vet Application Form) and get your E-Vetting form signed by a member of the club Committee. (Keep an eye out for email from the Garda EVetting - you will need to complete another application with details like previous addresses, Passport no, etc. Also, in due course you will receive an email from Garda EVetting stating "The vetting application made in respect of you has been completed and a disclosure has been made to Swim Ireland" - don't panic - this just means they've passed the results onto Swim Ireland. This step can take a long time, so good to get started on it early!) Valid for 3 years.
3. Complete a Safeguarding Level 1 Course through Swim Ireland. You can find details about this courses here. To book you need to log into Swim Ireland's JustGo portal using your Swim Ireland profile created in step 1 above. Make sure to choose the Republic of Ireland course when booking. This course is a 3 hour virtual course that requires you to be online with video & speaker enabled throughout. Valid for 3 years.
4. Complete Swim Ireland Team Manager - Competitions training. You can find details about this course here. To book you need to log into Swim Ireland's JustGo portal using your Swim Ireland profile created in step 1 above. This is an e-learning course you can complete in your own time when suits. It takes about 90 minutes to complete and there is a multiple choice assessment at the end with a pass requirement of 75% (you can make multiple attempts). Only have to complete once.
